@silents08 It is true. We Mauritians are a relatively new people. Most Mauritians have had their ancestors in the country for less than 200 years, not more; all immigrants, Mauritius has no natives. Even after the Arabs discovered Mauritius in AD 600, they did not occupy it; it was occupied by the Portuguese only around 1500 AD =)

there is no records that ppl were living there b4 400 years ago. it could be or could be not. The truth is there are no records. But the island was dicovered by the Moors in AD 600 and called DinaRobin (meaning island of desolation). hope it helps.
